Private Sector Corruption in Vietnam: From Legislation to its Impact on the Economy

Purpose: The objective of this study was to analyze Vietnamese legal legislation regarding corruption in the private sector, identify its current shortcomings, and assess impact on economy since adoption 2018.
 
 Theoretical framework: There have been many studies Vietnam aspects, including overview Vietnam, influence economic development, consequences corruption. However, there is still much investigate learn about provisions sector Vietnam’s economy.
 Design/methodology/approach: uses secondary data from Provincial Competitiveness Index Report (PCI Vietnam) issued by Chamber Commerce Industry (VCCI) collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Besides, article analyzes Vietnam's Corruption Control (CCI), which assessed annually World Bank (WB). At same time, authors refer GDP make a comparison CC index clarify article’s objective. also use qualitative method analyzing previous rules law concerning corruption, Findings: has had specific legislative achievements criminalizing 2015 Criminal Law promulgating anti-corruption 2018 Anti-Corruption Law.
